Large protohistoric and ancient necropolises were discovered to the west of Perpignan, in the hamlet of Négabous, prior to roadworks relating to a diversion of regional highway 900. Archaeologists have identified 300 grouped and sometimes overlapping incineration graves, which gradually expanded from south to north. The analyses of these cremation burials could help establishing whether these concentrations reflect specific groupings (families for instance...).
